Two mail icons

I currently have two working apple mail apps on my phone somehow and I was wondering if it is safe to delete one or what I should do to get rid of one.

Hi Bigmac_2001,

If you'd like to remove one of the Mail icons on your iPhone, these steps might help.

How to delete an app
1. Touch and hold the app.
2. Tap Remove App.
3. Tap Delete App, then tap Delete to confirm.

The information above is from Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. While we understand you have two of the same app, these are the best steps to take to remove the duplicate from your iPhone. Just as a precaution, you'll want to be sure that you know both your email address and password before deleting the app. This is just in case you need to reconfigure your Mail settings again. If both of the apps delete, then follow the steps in the section "Restore a built-in app that you deleted" in Delete built-in Apple apps from the Home Screen on your iOS 14 or later or iPadOS device or Apple Watch.

If the issue continues, let the community know exactly what steps you tried and what happened after each step.

We hope that helps with your question and take care!

Hello Bigmac_2001,

Thank you for following up with us.

Check to see if you have any software updates available for your iPhone: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Then, restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

Finally, do you recall when you first noticed that you had duplicate Mail apps? Was it after making any changes to your iPhone?

Take care.
