IPhone Replacement

I dropped my IPhone 13 Pro into the lake yesterday while fishing. I was unable to retrieve it. I bought the phone with Apple Care+ in February 2022.

Is there anything that Apple can do to replace the phone or to help get me an replacement such as a discount on the next IPhone purchase or refund on my Apple Care + if I decide not to purchase an IPhone and won't need it???

There has to be something Apple can do to care for its customers.

You can certainly try, but you're not likely going to get very far. If they make an exception here and there, they have start making exceptions everywhere. When one chooses an AppleCare+ plan, it's clear there are two tiers. AppleCare+ and AppleCare+ Theft and Loss. It's unfortunate you chose the wrong tier, but I would have very low hopes of any exception from Apple.

Theft and Loss has only been an option for the last couple generation iPhones. Before that, there was never such an option, so anyone who had their phone stolen or lost their phone never had such an option available to begin with.

hey man. The same thing happened to me the other day. Was out tubing on a river and my IPhone 13 pro fell out of my pocket and into the water. Gone forever. I bought the phone in February 2022 and purchased Apple Care +, thinking that I was covered for theft and loss. When I called in yesterday, I was told I purchased the wrong plan. Extra $70 dollars would have covered me for this. $200 of apple care completely useless and a $1700 device gone, and not covered. This was my first time purchasing apple care and I made a simple mistake. In the past I’ve gone with cell provider insurance but decided to go with Apple Care with my new device. Called apple, spoke with many senior advisors and they all said since it’s passed the 60 days there’s nothing that can be done. At this point I am going to write to Apple Corporate and hope that a billion dollar company such as them has some sympathy and understanding for our situation. I bought that coverage with full belief I was covered for loss and theft. Mistakes happen, we are imperfect human beings, in times like this I pray Apple will look out for they’re customers. Will keep you updated on my correspondence with Corporate.
