Remove from Previous Recipients List

I'm trying unsuccessfully to unsubscribe from a reoccurring email from an app. I have multiple email addresses that I use. So I click on the down arrow next to the "To:" which is my name to see which email address it is coming to. I get a drop down menu and toward the bottom of the drop down menu there is this option "Remove from Previous Recipients List". Could someone explain what that means?

Any other advice on how to stop reoccurring emails would be appreciated. Cheers...

Mail>Window>Previous Recipients...

Unsubscribing from an email list typically tells the list it is a valid email address and you get more random spam not less as it get sold and marketed to spammer packages.

I would mark it as spam, put it on a blacklist, Apple's "Junk" or how ever you deal with incoming spam— and forget about it.
