Trade in for my water damage MacBook

You'll need to get it repaired to trade it in. That to me seems like a losing proposition right there. I doubt seriously you'll break even on that score, most likely they'll offer you a trade in that's less than what you paid to repair. Offering the same is a waste of time and offering more is a very bad business decision.

Water damage is not covered by warranty and having the Genius Bar fix it is your best solution if you need to trade it.

If you tell them that you wish to trade it, you should be issued a gift card on the spot as soon as it’s fixed. 😉
