My Apple CarPlay is making a static/crackling sound and I don’t know how to fix it.
mu Apple CarPlay is making a static/crackling sound when playing music. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have a iPhone 13 pro if that matters.

Hi Baileyhubb8,
Thanks for your post to Apple Support Communities. Let's rule out what might be going on to cause the static you hear when playing music through CarPlay.
First, make sure your iOS is fully updated to iOS 15.5. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Next, make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.
If the issue still isn't resolved, reply back letting us know if you also hear static when playing music through your iPhone speaker, headphones, or another Bluetooth accessory (speaker, not CarPlay). Also test other audio through CarPlay from your iPhone like phone calls or videos. The goal will be to narrow down what the static is related to.
We look froward to hearing back from you.
Best regards.
I'm experience static usually a few minutes into a phone call via CarPlay. I'm in a 2019 eGolf with fully updated software.
Unfortunately, it's already off. Thanks.
Was there ever a resolution on this? My car does the same 2019 Nissan Maxima. Tried multiple wires, usbc and usb. No problem via bluetooth. Also, this is only for phone calls. Not music.
it has yet to be resolved. I tried everything. Still static while using phone and navigation with wired CarPlay in my 2025 Nissan Murano. Neither Nissan nor Apple wants to take responsibility.
I have the exact same issue - it is definitely worse when using Waze or maps.
The problem is that they can’t figure out the issue. They changed my radio and it’s still happening. So frustrating.
If you don't know the answer, please stop writing about options which people have tried.
Hi Soosie you really don't know anything about this issue, so better stop suggesting
I hope you get it fixed mate but I painfully tried for 2 hours on Monday and got nothing off them I needed working carplay for my job as I can drive up to 2 to 3 hours a day one way and for me to having to keep on plugging it and unplugging it it's no good for me
I had the deep purple 512gb I'm sorry but paying £1600 for a phone what doesn't work is a big no trust me it was painful trying to get them to accept the return but when I complained they finally accepted it and I received my refund today it's taking something getting used to the Samsung but up to now it's worked flawlessly And I had a nice smooth drive today without any problems
Unfortunatley ChrisHyper1, I can't do that ... you are one lucky guy. I need a resolution from Apple. Apple? Can you hear me through the crackling and static?
I have the same issue with my 22 Wrangler. Everything is updated. There isn’t any static when connected to Bluetooth, only usb cable.
