iPhone 12 visual voicemail not working

I did a search and plenty of people had this problem but they were ATT. I am with Verizon and just got my iPhone 12. No visual voicemail. Did a search on correcting the problem. I turned airplane mode on and then off, rebooted phone with airplane mode on, all the rest of the things they said to try and still all I get is a tiny message in the center that says Call Voicemail. Very frustrating. Worked fine on my iPhone 11.
