read only problem

i have MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) with macOS Monterey version 12.3.1

every external hard drive I'm trying to connect (exFat format) got an "read only" permission.

only after I'm log out and in it change to "custom access".

do anyone know how to fix this? I didn't find anything online..

You should try updating to 12.4 which was released about a week ago.


Have you tried booting into Safe Mode to see if it makes any difference? Perhaps you have some third party software that is interfering with the normal operation of macOS.
