cannot edit the portable backup drive after upgrading macOS to Catalina

Hi,

I was previously using macOS Mojave and High Sierra. I saved some files is a portable drive. Later on, I upgraded to macOS Catalina.

After upgrading, I no longer have write authority to that portable drive but can still access and read the files. The file system in the portable drive is NTFS.

How do I get back my write authority to the portable drive.

Thank you.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Hi,

Macs cannot natively write to NTFS, so you must have used another method, such as the third party app Paragon. You'll need to do that again.
