How do I prevent emails from a trusted sender from going into the junk mail folder? I've even made this sender a VIP but their emails keep being treated as junk!

Can you make sure that ****@icloud.com goes straight through to Inboxes in future?

There is certainly no way any of us here could make that happen.

I don't even think Apple can ensure that happens.

Apple doesn't control the intervening mail exchangers that your messages might pass through on the way to the recipient. email is not point to point. It can propagate through various email servers attached to the internet before it arrives at the destination server. All of those intervening email servers could decide your message is spam and mark it as such.

The recipient's email client determines what to do if it finds X-SPAM headers in the email. You can disable trusting X-SPAM headers in Mail's Junk Preferences, "Trust Junk mail headers in messages."

Try turning off Junk and compare your results...

turn it off in Mail>Preferences.

Try the following;

1 - create a mailbox named for the trusted sender.

1 - create a rule to send emails from the trusted sender to that mailbox.

2 - create a smart mailbox with this criteria:

The emails from the sender and all new emails will show up in that smart mailbox. Once read the emails will be removed from the smart mailbox.

That should send the trusted sender's emails to their mailbox before the Junk algorithm gets its hand on them.

Thank you for your reply. Is there any phrase I can use in a subject heading which would indicate the content is not Junk? I don't want to receive Junk so I don't want to say 'Trust Junk mail headers in messages'. I want to convey "This email is personal correspondence and not Junk'. ! Has no one had this problem before?

I can't get an answer to my problem about my own emails being classified as Junk email in recipients' mail boxes. When I use my icloud address I am told that my emails are filtered into their Spam/Junk folders. I think this problem arose this summer when I was told that I had run out of icloud storage. I paid for more storage, but I have had this problem since which has only been discovered gradually when the recipients finally check their Junk folders! Can you make sure that ****@icloud.com goes straight through to Inboxes in future?
