Using a mac mini, 2014, sierra and iPad gen6.
I want to send photos, etc. from the mac to the iPad. It shows the iPad on the mac and everything is allowed but when I control click on a photo nothing happens. Also unable to drag photo to air drop icon in finder.
What am I doing wrong?

AirDrop will direct Photos to your iPad Photo Library. Other file types will prompt for you to select either an App to open a file - or Save to Files, which will allow you to select a location to save the file/document.

Update.
Just tried it again and, waa-laa, it worked.
Must have had a CRS moment.
Next: Is there a way to air drop from the mac to a "folder" in the iPad? I have one set up but, so far, everything goes to photos.

I don't understand why photos, etc. cannot be directed to a folder instead of apple photo.
My son set up this folder for me and was able to send photos from his iPad and/or iPhone.
