Hey what should I do if I can't connect to my HomePod throughout the day all the time? Like sometimes i can connect to it with no problems but most of the time I have to use my HomePod like its a regular speaker & not like its own device.

I have a HomePod as well. For HomePod to connect throughout the day, your iPhone should be connected on wifi and bluetooth turned on.
Maybe try re-connecting your iPhone and HomePod again using these steps - Set up HomePod - Apple Support
