Transfer of data from unresponsive iphone 6 to new iphone SE2022

The transfer of data was started in the shop where I purchased phone to be continued when I got home. There is now a message in 'Settings' requiring me to Update Apple ID settings. After entering my AppleID password it asks for the passcode of new phone and then passcode of old phone. Allok until I get to enter passcode of old phone , when it says the old phone passcode is incorrect - but as far as I am concerned it is correct - what can I do?
