a popup comes on my screen that invites me to listen to music. The only ONLY button is “continue”.

What does those two have to do with each other? It's clear what you mean by that.

If you have the music player on your lock screen like this:

The first time it happens, tap the AirPlay icon, and turn AirPlay -> Off.

Check If the AirPods connected, if so you will get the music player.

If AirPods are connected, you will get the music player.

Disconnect the AirPods.
