MacBook Air (M1) camera

Greetings Apple enthusiasts from Minneapolis, Mn. What the heck is up with MacBook Air (with M1) camera? mine is complete junk! My image is barely visible on the screen. Is there a way to fix this? Im really sick to my stomach because I do believe Apple inc. is slipping on their quality of products. For this price I could have taken a trip to see my daughter and seen her better in person and saved myself a few bucks on top of it. smh! Thank you in advance for any and all help or resources. 
