iMovie: Sports Theme Missing

Hello. Saw a conversation about this but wasn't resolved. I was wondering if there was an update. I'm trying to edit my son's soccer games and wanted to use this theme.

I'm running a MacBook Pro 13" (Mid-2012) with Catalina 10.15.7, iMovie version 10.2.5, and the Sports Theme is not showing up on the theme options. It is in the "Contents" list, but not in the actual software.

Is there a way to import this theme into the software? or maybe download any sports theme and install it into iMovie?

As you have observed, the Sports Theme is missing from Catalina. I confirmed that it is missing on my Catalina system. Although the movie for the theme is present in iMovie/Show Package Contents/Contents/Resoursces, it won't operate interactively in iMovie.

I have not heard anything as to whether the Sports Theme has been replaced in post-Catalina upgrades.

iMovie does not accept 3rd party plug-ins, so I doubt that you will be able to find anything on the internet that would work.

I also have Mojave on my Mac, and it has a workable Sports Theme for iMovie. You might consider making a boot drive, installing Mojave on it, and downloading a compatible iMovie version from your purchases account in the App store. Then see if iMovie contains the Sports Theme.

Also, you can contact Apple Support by clicking on the Get Support item in the upper right corner of this forum's screen. Navigate to a place where you can insert your phone number. The techs there may be able to advise how, if possible, to get the Sports Theme.
