An option to add a fan?

Do MacBooks have an option for fans?

I need a Macintosh book for school but I’m worried about cooling. I personally use windows as my main os which gets very hot 🥵. Do I need an external fan?

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

MacBook Airs and Pros are not "open architecture" like some Windows machines; notable desktops. You don't open them and add components as there is no allowance for that. But then you can't do that with most Windows notebooks either.

Best practice for cooling a MacBook Air or Pro is common sense: don't restrict airflow in any way, keep it out of the hot sun for extended periods, DO use it on hard surfaces and etc.

The MacBook Air is the only notebook that doesn’t need a fan.

All MacBook models have a completely new system architecture designed for efficiency and performance by design.

That means more performance, less heat and no noisy fans made possible by the technology of M1 SoC (System-on-a-Chip).

You need to see it in person.

As Apple is transiting away from the Intel CPU to the In-House Apple Silicon M1 CPU - the advent of a Fan in the computer, as of this writing, is restricted to MacBook Pro line of laptop computers

Depending on you location on this planet - Apple does offer Refused Apple Computer which are as goods as new and at an Apple Reduced Price.

Not cheap but less than Full New Computer prices.

Have purchased Refurb Directly from Apple several times and always been pleased with the machines.
