When I bought my new macbook I took a picture using the camera to set as my user profile picture, after a while the macbook decided to change it to the one used on my iCloud email. How Can I retrive this picture? Is there a directory where I can find it?

There have been some noted issues in Monterey—
the resolve was to have your avatar the same across the board— in Contacts, Mail, Users & groups

Add or change contact pictures in Contacts on Mac - Apple ...
System Preferences > Users and Groups and hover your cursor to the left of your name to edit the image.
All I think of is https://www.icloud.com!

I took the picture using the MacBook camera, it was not already on the device.
You'll have to take another because I have no idea where they are saved or if they are saved. They are not in Photos or Photo Booth.
