MIssing country flags for the selected language in Monterey 15.4

Hey guys,

Just updated my MacBook to macOS 15.4, and noticed there are no country flags for the keyboard layouts.

This is terrible, there is no color differentiation anymore, all keyboard indicators are the same.

How to bring the flags back?

Thanks

unfortunately, you don't. for better or worse, apple changed that. and, i've seen a few other posts on this. you're not the only one that's not happy. all you can do is send apple some feedback. please feel free to use this link: Feedback - macOS - Apple

You can add a custom layout with the flag via Ukelele.

i saw that response last week. does ukelele work with 12.4? i tried it and couldn't apply the Canadian flag. was it pilot error on my part? and could the failed attempt relate to the fact that i only have one input source?

thanks.

The easiest way to get the Canadian flag is to install the Roman.bundle which is part of the Ukelele download in the Resources folder in Keyboard Layouts. Is that what you tried.

i don't believe so. i think i just tried adding the Canadian flag on it's own. i still have uklele installed. i'll give the roman bundle a try later today and get back to you.

thanks again.
