My iMac doesn't run well on Catalina. How do I go back from Catalina 10.15.7 to High Sierra on an iMac Late 2012?

  1. Make a time machine backup
  2. How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support (CA) download high Sierra here
  3. How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support (CA) make a bootable installer with high sierra
  4. Boot from the usb (hold the option/alt key during startup end select the disk that is called install high sierra
  5. Install High Sierra
  6. Migrate your data back from the backup
