iMessage activation error?
I have an error with my iMessage activation and none of the usual steps have resolved it. Anyone know if this is a wider issue following a recent update or is it just me!

I have had this issue for the last 4 months. Logged a support call case id 101643313830. No answer and number still not activated on iMessage. My cellphone contract is being deducted for every sms that is going to the +44 number in the UK, but Apple has no clue on what is going on and are just ignoring the issue.
Why does the activation have to occure with an sms in the first place? Its iMessage service, that does not use SMS. Why was it working perfectly on my iPhone7, but since upgrade to iPhone 13 it is now a problem. Why was the number removed as registered in the first place?
I am having the same issue. I got my iPhone 13 pro max in March. The iMessages is not yet activated. Called the support a lot of times. No response.
