No SMS via Macbook pro after switch to AT&T

Hey all,

I recently switched to a new iPhone 13 mini and AT&T (from Google Fi). I simply cannot get texts to work on my Macbook pro via the Messages app.

iMessages work fine. Send and receive via the Mac, all show up on the iPhone.

SMS do not work. Can't send, can't receive.

I have tried the usual trouble shooting steps. Text message forwarding is enabled on iPhone to Mac. Both iPhone and Mac are signed into same iCloud account. Signed out of accounts on both devices and logged back in, multiple times. Even removed the Mac from my iCloud devices and re-added. No luck.

What am I missing here? Any help is appreciated.

thanks,

Johannes

FYI - Resolved the issue. If anyone ever has the same issue after a switch from Google Fi: You have to reset network settings on your iPhone.

Google Fi has you add cellular settings to get group messages to work. After the switch to AT&T it appeared like it just overwrote them so I didn't worry about it. To get SMS to work on the Mac though I had to reset network settings on my iPhone, now it's working!
