Where to store videos on my new iMac?

I have numerous .mp4 video files of family events. Where's the best place to save them on my new iMac for easy access? (24" M1 running Monterey 12.4)

The Movies folder would be one. If you have a large number of video files you may want to store them on an external drive.

Thanks! If I store them in the "Movies" folder will they show up in the video section of the Photos app?

Welcome and no. You would have to add them to Photos by dragging them into Photos or using "Import…".
