What kind of cable should I buy to charge an iPhone 6 Plus from a 27-inch late-2013 iMac?

Apologies in advance that this question relates to such ancient tech. But that is the problem!

The iMac has three USB 3 slots (compatible with USB 2) and the iPhone came with a cable listed in the tech specs as just USB to Lightning. But all the cables are now either USB-A or USB-C. I am confused. Does anyone know which one I should buy?

And, should I be charging from the iMac or from a wall plug?

For charging the iPhone, just use the supplied cable and wall charger.

If your iPhone came with a Lighting to USB-C cable and you want to sync or backup the iPhone to the 2013 iMac?

Then you need a Lighting to USB-A cable > Lightning to USB Cable (1 m) - Apple

The late 2013 iMac has USB-A ports. You'll want a USB-A to Lightning cable.

You could opt for a USB-C to Lightning cable, but that will also require use of a USB-A to USB-C adapter plug or cable.

Charging can be done from either the iMac or a wall charger. I think the wall charger may be faster, but I'm not sure.

The supplied cable has fallen apart after about eight years of use!
