Missing music

When I purchased my new iPhone 12, most of my music disappeared, both the purchased and my own from my cd’s. How can I get them back?

You can redownload your purchased music:

Redownload music - Apple Support

For music that you got from a CD, you will have to sync them in the same way you put them on your previous iPhone:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support

BTW, if you subscribe to Apple Music, make sure to enable Sync Library on your new iPhone:

Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music - Apple Support

Thank you. I did try that earlier, but very few of my purchased music was shown.

I do have the music on my iPad. When I airdrop the songs on iPhone, It tries to open the song with Apple Music, I don’t have a subscription to Apple Music. Any idea how to stop the Apple Music from opening?
