IpadOS update comparable with MacOS

Hi there,

I have an older MacBook which is currently running on MacOS Catalina, and my iPad is asking to update to the latest iPadOS 15.4.

I would like to know whether my iPad will still be compatible with my MacBook if I were to update. I am unable to update my MacBook , so if they are not compatible I will not be able to update my iPad.

Not a problem. At least not now. I've got a MacBook Pro limited to Catalina and it's doing just fine loading the latest versions of iOS/iPadOS 15 and doing backups.
