I had to erase my iOS 15 iPhone. When I restored the contents of my phone from a backup, the original apps/grouping of apps did not install on my home screen. Does anyone know how to restore them again?

I misunderstood your issue. When you restore a backup it downloads placeholders for the apps you had, but the apps are redownloaded from the App Store. You have to wait for this to finish.

Go to Settings/General/Transfer or Reset Phone/Reset/Reset Home Screen Layout.
