Podcast Storage Usage

Why does the Podcasts App use so much storage space? All downloaded episodes are using 818mb of storage, yet the documents and data are using 17.39gb of storage. Why? What is the other 16+gb? Is there a fix for this?

Deleted and reinstalled the podcasts app.
