Hi, I’ve noticed that every other phone i’ve used doesn’t have this problem so i’m hoping you guys can help me figure it out. When I hold down on a message all the other messages disappear including the messages icons. If that makes sense, heres a photo

When you long press (hold down) on a message, you activate the alternate menu of choices from Reply to Tapback and more. Once you are finished with the task, such as replying to a specific message, then you can tap on any blank area of the screen and you will be returned to the normal Messages screen.

Turn Off Do Not Disturb:
What happens when you turn off Do Not Disturb? See if that does the trick.
