Gmail not getting linked to Mail app on Macbook Air M1

Hi Apple Family,

Each time I choose on Google , I click on continue, my chrome browser opens up, nothing happens after that, I dont get any prompt or any other action to be taken whatsoever. Not sure how to link my Gmail to the mail app. Any advice?

Greetings Fabian_88,

Instead of using a third-party web browser, what happens if you set Safari as your default web browser? Change the default web browser or email app on your Mac

How to change your default web browser
1. Make sure that the other web browser is installed.
2. Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click General.
3. Choose a web browser from the ”Default web browser” menu.

Thanks.
