how to add google gmail account to macbook pro mail app
my mail app is stuck on the loading screen when I try to add a google account/gmail, but works when I add a microsoft account - anyone had this issue before?

Solution: since my default browser was Google Chrome, it was a problem with Google Chrome not allowing my MacBook to authenticate my Google Gmail account. Once I switched my default browser from Google Chrome to Safari, I was able to authenticate my Google Gmail account, and successfully added my Gmail account to my mail app on my MacBook.
