Can I customize dictation spelling and formatting?

I am using Apple's voice dictation on my mac and I really like it. It is quite good at accurately typing what I say. I would LOVE to be able to customize a couple of things:

Is it possible to change the spelling of an existing word? When I say "okay", dictation always spells it "OK". Can I change that?
By default, when you start a new dictation, it capitalizes the first word, but I am often starting and stopping mid-sentence and would like the default to be lower-case. Is there a way of doing this? I know there is a voice command to change the case, but it's an extra step and one that doesn't always seem to work. Is there a way to change the default auto-capitalization?

For number two in your post, if you go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Text and uncheck ‘Capitalize words automatically’ does that change the behavior? However, if there is terminal punctuation entered, then the next word will be capitalized regardless of that selection.

As for the dictionary using the spelling of OK vs okay, with dictation there doesn’t seem to be a way to change that in System Preferences. You can certainly provide feedback on customizations you’d like to see for Dictation though. Here’s the link - Product Feedback

Hi AnnieL2,

Thank you so much for your reply. For number 2, the steps you suggested unfortunately didn't solve the problem. My voice dictation always capitalizes the first letter each time with or without full stops present.

Hey cjacko2019,

Just to make sure we're on the same page. If you are dictating something like "I will go to the grocery store" and you stop momentarily before you say "grocery store" the transcription will type out "I will go to the Grocery store." Is that right?

When you mentioned that you toggled off "Capitalize words automatically" did the first letter in a sentence stop capitalizing?
