BENQ 4k external monitor powering Macbook Pro M1 Max

I've recently upgraded my setup.

I'm using a BENQ 4k monitor ( With a built-in power supply) and connecting to the Macbook pro with a thunderbolt cable that is powering the computer. The battery on the Macbook pro is always at 100%.

My question is by powering it from the external monitor is it damaging the battery on the Macbook pro?

I've read many reviews and an agent with Apple assured me it's all okay but just wanted some more opinions.

The general position is charging a Mac for extended periods with the included charger is not going to harm the Mac. The Mac's circuity will take of the battery's health.

Apple will very likely not officially support charging with an unapproved device for obvious reasons ... they have no control over its characteristics or quality.

I'd think you'd be OK, but then if I'm wrong, it's your repair bill to pay, not mine.
