Messages sending even though both parties have blocked each other

Me and another person blocked each other on iMessage.

During the time I sent messages knowing I was blocked and I had blocked the other person.

The messages didn’t say delivered as expected because both parties are blocked.

However I went back onto the iMessage chat & saw that I could see the person was in ‘Do not disturb mode’.

I understand this is an indication that I have been unblocked, but I still have the other person blocked.

The issue is that the messages I sent are now saying delivered.

The whole time I have not unblocked this person & at the time I was blocked too.

Is it possible that the iMessages I sent whilst being blocked and blocking them have truly been delivered?

How is that possible if both parties were blocked at the time that the iMessages were sent?

Hey Community_usernam3,

The blocked contact should remain blocked if you never changed any settings. Please see this user guide for more details: Block, filter, and report messages on iPhone

Also, let's make sure that you followed the right steps that are listed from this article: Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you continue to experience the same issue, let us know if you're running the latest version of iOS. You can find out if you have any updates by going to Settings > General > Software update.

Keep us updated.

Cheers!
