Did you add Terminal to "Full Disk Access" (?)
Open System Preferences ▸ Security & Privacy. Select the Privacy tab. Select Full Disk Access, then click the lock icon to activate the +/- add your Terminal.app here.

Does Terminal have "Full Disk Access" under the Security & Privacy control panel?
This is not a problem with Terminal but with whatever commands you are trying to execute in it.
You say you are trying to delete python.
How was it installed? Where is it installed?
What exactly are you trying to type in Terminal?
Yeah I did
still doesn’t work
What are you doing when you get that error?
It is virtually impossible to determine with knowing the exact command and the exact error message.
That was probably not just "permission denied", but given also a file or folder path name.
I downloaded it from the website and just followed through with the installer.
It is installed on the Macintosh HD
I dont really remember what I was trying to type but I think it was something around these lines
"~ [user name] sudo rm -rf /Applications/Python\ 3.6/"
trying to delete python
The built-in version may not be in a location that is not protected. Are you trying g to delete a version you installed?
yeah I installed the latest version from the website. I was trying to uninstall that
