Face Id Not working after update?

So my faceId was working fine used it all the time to unlock my bank accounts, my phone etc instead of passwords, the I updated my phone to the latest software and now it doesn’t work anymore, took it into geek squad and they say the cameras broken. So naturally my phones out of warranty, and I have no service plan. Any one else have a broken camera after getting a update?
