On second account on a Macbook, how to logon to second Apple ID
I have two users on my Macbook Pro. It's old enough to be runnng El Capitan. On the standard user, I can Sign in to my primary Apple ID <Apple ID 1>. I am able to use all the iCloud functions. When I logon to the Admin user, in the past I logged in to this primary Apple ID. Now I want to sign in to another Apple ID <apple id 2>. When I try, I get an error message: Your Apple ID "<apple id 2>" could not be used to sign in to iCloud (34608)
This Macbook is linked to the Apple Id of the Standard User.
My questions are:
- Does Apple allow a second Apple id to sign on from a device linked with another account?
- If not, How do I use an Apple computer with more than one user? How do the other accounts establish a sign on to their Apple ID iCloud account?
- Has this changed for newer computers?
I haven't been able to find this specific information on the Apple Support sites. I've seen some discussions over the years about mulitple ID on one computer, but haven't seen an answer the question.
