no ringer/vibrate when call comes in

I have had this new iPhone 13 for a few weeks. Just noticed today that when I received a call the phone did not make a sound. I checked the mute switch and it is off. I went to settings and when I adjusted the ringer and alerts volume ringer made sound and a popup said "silent-mode off" Can't figure out how it is turned on.

Hi DickB01,

Make sure that Do Not Disturb isn't enabled. This article shows how to check that - Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

When Do Not Disturb is enabled, this would not allow calls to come through to your device. If this is not enabled, can you tell us if you are hearing other notifications for other apps? And if this is happening with all calls? Does it happen with FaceTime calls?
