I am unable to continue the final settings due to an old email address that is asking for a password. This old email address and password is no longer in use. How do I rid my new phone of this email address?

How do I get an old email account off of my new phone? To finish setting up a new 13 phone I cannot get past the screen that asks me to log in to this old account.

iPhone 13

Hello Fixerofstuff,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you'll need to sign in with your Apple ID and password in order to complete the set up of your new iPhone. This is for verification of your data that's being transferred from a previous device to your new one. You can reset the Apple ID password, which will help you finalize the set up of your iPhone. Here's how to reset your Apple ID password: If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support

If that doesn't help, please let us know if you deleted or deactivated your Apple ID account that is no longer in use. Here's more information about these two options: Understand and control the personal information that you store with Apple - Apple Support

Best regards.
