Question::

Can the iPhone 12 pro max be able to measure the humidity in the room where the iPone is or can only provide the outside humidity?

Can the iPhone 12 pro max be able to measure the humidity in the room where the iPhone is or it can only provide the outside humidity? If it can measure the indoor humidity, which is a good application for this purpose?

Answer:

Not at this time. All apps in the app store I have found to report the humidity outside. These are the sensors on the iPhone 12

  • Sensors
  • Face ID
  • LiDAR Scanner
  • **Barometer**
  • Three‑axis gyro
  • Accelerometer
  • Proximity sensor
  • Ambient light sensor

MY QUESTION by AndyHutch1947

My question is this.

Doesn’t a Barometer measure humidity?

If so then an App should be created that references this sensor. Isn’t this pretty straightforward?

Doesn’t a Barometer measure humidity?”

No, a barometer measures air pressure. A hygrometer is used to measure humidity.
