Password reset

Hi there, my child has locked their Iphone due to multiple incorrect password and i cant recover the device - any help appreciated.

IOS 16.2 Passcode lockout - Security Lockout - Recover Data After the IOS 16.2 update my passcode no longer worked on my phone and is now in "Security Lock" after too many attempts. The Iphone hadn't done a backup in months and I have a ton of critical data on the phone for my job that could potentially cost me my job if I can't get it back. Talked to apple support and the only option they can offer is wiping and starting from scratch. Seems to me if the update caused my passcode to change there should be more support from apple to rectify the issue. Any suggestions or third party apps available to recover data would be much appreciated.

Thanks Nick, i tried that but my PC doesnt find the phone, nor does ITunes?
