Is the ethernet cable connected on the other end to a router that provides internet access?

Do you get an error message? What does it say exactly?

- Try restarting both your Apple TV box and router.

- Try disconnecting the ethernet cable on both ends, then reconnect.

- Try replacing the ethernet cable for a different one.

- Try connecting your Apple TV to a different network.
