Why cant i login with the code i was given

I'm trying to create a user name and when I enter the code from my email to verify email it keeps saying thr number is incorrect. It IS NOT! I even copied the text fr email amd pasted into link. Please help I'm trying to watch the baseball ge on mlb.tv thru the apple TV app on my firestick. So I need to create account please
