How do I connect my iPhone 12 Pro Max to my Mac Book Air (M1, 2020)

Both devices are up-to-date.

I have no connectors that will plug into both the Mac Book Air and the iPhone.

I can't connect via Wi-Fi since according to Mac Support instructions, you need a cable to connect the two prior to synching for the first time. ("To set up syncing via Wi-Fi, you must first connect your device with a cable, select your device in the sidebar, and turn on the syncing over Wi-Fi option.")

So can someone help me with what type of cord to use? I have no idea what it would be called.

Thank. you!

It would be a Lightning (iPhone end of the cable) to USB-C (computer end) cable. For example: USB-C to Lightning Cable (1 m) - Apple

That is the same cable that currently ships with new iPhone 12 phones.
