My daughter’s iphone st gen 2 has spinning wheel and we can’t reset it. She said she was on FaceTime sound became distorted and phone shut down with spinning wheel. Tried to hold down buttons to reset it but didn’t work. What is wrong? How can we fix it?

Try making a forced Restart, do the following:
1) Press and quickly release Volume Up
2) Press and quickly release Volume Down
3) Press and hold the Power Button until the screen turns off
You phone is now doing a forced restart.
