Phone heating up and battery drain

I have an iPhone 12 Pro with the current software. For the last month or so I have noticed my phone will randomly heat up near the MagSafe component then radiate throughout the whole of the back of the phone. When this happens my phones battery will drain rapidly. Overheating doesn’t cause any error messages and I’m not using the phone excessively to cause a large drop on battery %. An example is my battery went from 55% to 8% within approx 30 minutes. Restarting the phone seems to help but I’m almost having to do this every few days. Any ideas on what to do?

Hello,

Hmm, you might check the battery health:

If the health is below 80%, consider a battery replacement:

Good luck.
