Hi,

Could be a bad battery. Happened to me about a week ago (weird unplanned shutdown) and a replacement battery installed at an Apple Store did the trick Fixed a few other things too, including the trackpad which was pressed against by a . I suspected that the battery was intermittently failing. Worked sometimes but not always.
You might want to get a diagnostic. Hardware faults are often logged in nonvolatile memory and can be read through an Apple diagnostic. When I got mine, they had to pull out an ethernet cable (which newer Macs don't typically use) in order to run through the diagnostics.
However, getting an official Apple battery replacement may depend on what model you have. The model name you listed is extremely broad and doesn't include model year. Do you have any more specifics?
