Legacy Page templates

I would like to locate and use an older Pages newsletter template. Where can they be found?

Hi Susan,

If the template you are looking for is one that was supplied with an older version of Pages, the only place to find it will be in the Template Chooser in a version of Pages with which it was included. That is a god place to find templates you have created when using that version of the application as well.

Once found, you need to place a copy of that template in a place where you can readily obtain it and move it into a newer version of pages

To do that:

In the older version, locate the template and create a new document using that template.

Without making any changes to the document, go to the file menu and choose Save as Template.

You will be offered the choice to place it in the Template Chooser or to Save it to your computer.

Choose Save it to your Computer, give it a new title, choose or make a convenient location to save it, then confirm the save.

Test whether the newly saved template will open into your newer version of Pages. If it does, and you're good with the current location it is saved, you're done.

To use the new template, you may have to launch the newer version of Pages, then open the new template from within the version of Pages with which you want to use it.

Be aware that changes in the application and in the operating system from when that template was originally made to now may make the template incompatible with current versions of Pages.

Regards,

Barry
