I have a my vacation photos that I sorted in albums.
I did not consistently permanently delete the photos from the albums - so the blurry ones are still in the library..
Is there a way to discern which vacation photos in the library are NOT in an album so I can delete them?

I select all photos in an album and set the album name as a keyword. This is very handy for figuring out where some random photo came from. If you do this, then you can make a smart album that has all the pictures between the appropriate dates but do not have the album keyword. Then select all and delete.
No. Not with the standard tools. You have to find the photos you want gone, and hide or delete those.
If you’re running El Capitan, consider an upgrade if your Mac supports it. Older Photos had some issues.
