Why am I seeing this message in my system preferences under software update?

"Update for this Mac are managed by swscan.apple.com Do you want to restore default update settings?"

I have the option to Restore Defaults or Cancel

How can I avoid unwanted Apple software updates? I have been getting unwanted software updates for my Mac, despite in my preferences I have "Automatically keep my Mac up to date" unchecked. The most recent message I received stated: "There are software updates available for your Mac that require you to restart. You already postponed updates the maximum number of times. Please save your work and click 'Update" otherwise this message will disappear and the computer will restart automatically". What are these updates, and how can I avoid them?

what if there isn't a software update to click listed in the system preferences I received a warning stating that my Mac hadn't been updated for over 600+ days. I went online to see what I could do and it stated to go to apple menu hit system preferences then click onto software update. It isn't there. Is there anywhere else I can check.

MacOS update I’ve noticed a breach in my network, and while checking, macOS automatically downloaded and installed an update (Ventura 13.4) on my macbook. Only a restart finishes this update. Given this, I have a few questions: how can I know this update is genuinely? I have two profiles on my MacBook, a normal user and an admin user. I was logged on with the normal user. Is it normal that the update bypassed the admin approval? can I revert this update? I’ve postponed it, and shutdown my macbook. Furthermore, I’ve disabled automatic updates and installation of it from now on. I prefer to update manually. Thank you for your help! OS.
