Netflix subtitle font size cannot be changed on apple tv 4k

Hi,

I am trying to change the subtitles style for Netflix.

In General>Accessibility>Subtitles and Captioning I can change every aspect related to subtitle such as font type, font color, background color and so on.

Every change I make works perfectly... EXCEPT font size... whatever size I chose.... NO CHANGE at all.

Please help me with this. Thank you.

Note: this seems to be the case only with Netflix. The font size changes correctly on other apps.

Note: I'm on tvos 15.3.

Hi sameeran93,

You can also try changing the settings from a web browser to see if they apply: How to change the appearance of subtitles and closed captions

Since this is only happening with the Netflix app, there's a place to report this issue to Netflix on their website here: Subtitle and caption appearance doesn't change

Cheers!

Hi sameeran93,

Does restarting your Apple TV 4K help? Restart Apple TV - Apple Support Restating can seem like a simple step, but it allows the software on your Apple TV refresh, which can sometimes help resolve unexpected issues.

Also, the latest tvOS out at this time is tvOS 15.5: Apple security updates - Apple Support You could see if updating to the latest tvOS may help with that: Update your Apple TV - Apple Support

If the issue continues with the Netflix app, you could try deleting the app and downloading it again to get the latest app from the App Store, which could also help if there is an issue with the app itself:

"Delete an app

  1. Select the app you want to delete, then press and hold the clickpad center (second-generation Siri Remote) or touch surface (first-generation Siri Remote) until the app starts to jiggle.
  2. Press the Play/Pause button Play/Pause button for more options, then choose Delete.
  3. Deleting an app also deletes its data. You can download any app again that you’ve purchased on the App Store, free of charge, but the data may not be restored."

Those steps are from this article: Customize the Apple TV Home Screen - Apple Support

Let us know if those steps help or if you've already tried those.

Take care.
